32nd Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2018 is about to start in Surajkund of Faridabad city, Haryana. It is World’s largest crafts fair and it is getting bigger day by day. Every year million of visitors came here along with thousands of foreigners. It is a 17 day long festival dedicated to regional and international crafts along with the traditions. About Surajkund Mela 2018
This year the Surajkund Mela is expected to be a great hit as compared to previous years fair. Million of visitors are expected here and preparations for handling the large crowd has been completed by SUrajkund Mela authorities. Surajkund fair is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority in collaboration with the Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture, External Affairs, Department of Tourism, Government of Haryana and Haryana Tourism Corporation. The first fair was hosted in 1987 in a small area. This year Mela is organized in 40 acres of area and 1010 work hut are located here for the this grand event. 22 foreign countries are ready to participate in this craft fair.
Theme state of the 2018 Surajkund Mela is Uttar Pradesh and Partner country is Kyrgyzstan. More focus will be on this Indian state and this partner country. Many well renowned folk artists gather for their performance. Fair visitors can enjoy their performances in open air theaters, Chaupals, throughout the day. Apart from the national and international crafts, tasty regional food is also served here in multi cuisine food court.

2018 Surajkund Mela dates 2nd February 2018 to 18th February 2018. Timings of the fair are 10.30 AM to 8.30 PM on all the days including weekends. Last entry to the fair can be availed till 7.30 PM.
Surajkund Mela 2018 Tickets
Entry tickets are mandatory to get an entry in this beautiful craft fair. Ticket rates are from 120 to 180 for general people. For weekday tickets prices for entry are 120 per adult and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) Surajkund Mela ticket price is 180 Rs. Ticket prices for Surajkund Mela are little higher than the previous year. 3 Saturdays and 3 Sundays are falling in the duration of this craft fair. Normal tickets are available in online mode through bookmyshow.com.
Many categories are eligible for discounted tickets. Senior citizens, serving soldiers, students and differently abled tickets are available at the Surajkund Mela ticket counters after showing the valid proof. 50 % discount will be provided to students on weekdays after producing a valid ID proof. The rest of the categories are eligible for a 50 % discount all the day. Normal tickets should be purchased from online portal to save time and avoid queues. Tickets are also available at selected metro stations. Kids below 3 years are eligible for free entry.

Mela authorities will provide a tag for children below 14 years of age where they can write important information and this will be helpful if child gets lost in the fair. This will helps the child to meet their parents.

How to Reach Surajkund Mela
Faridabad is falls in Delhi NCR and well connected with Delhi. Surajkund Mela can be reached through multiple transport modes like Metro, private vehicles, public transport and hired cabs. IGI airport is the nearest airport and it is around 25 KM from here. Buses for Faridabad Surajkund are available from Delhi ISBT, Gurgaon and Faridabad city. Metro is also a convenient mode to reach here, Badarpur is the nearest metro station. Badarpur station is around 6 KM far from the fair venue and remaining distance can be covered through other modes of public transport.
It is one of the most awaited fair and it is loved by all the craft lovers of India and worldwide. It is a place for shopping, check the taste of regional food under one premises. Plastic bags are not permitted in the venue. Avoid taking objectionable items in the fair as lockers are not available here to deposit the items.
